Stress and Relaxation...The Two Extremes!

This work week is coming to a close. It has been a busy work week for me and a monster week for D. He's been working like a dog on projects that he can't get help with. Tonight, he texted me that he has to work on Saturday (all day) because of other incompetents he works with. I feel bad about this...I am going to do something special (make a nice dinner or something) for him this weekend to cheer him up and take his mind off work.

BTW, I found my salvation from crazy stress. Before the wedding, my mom and I started going to the Palomar Institute of Cosmetology for facials. For an hour and $25, all worries go away. I love going and spending the time with my mom, plus my skin is in the best shape it has been for a while. We typically go every two weeks, but I'm trying to cut back to once a month. However, my mom convinces me to go every two weeks with her...she bribes me and says she'll pay. I love my mom...she's the best!

Well, it's almost 11:00 and I'm on the couch watching bad television waiting for D to come home from work and his late softball game. I miss him and hopefully I can make it until he gets home! Nighty Night!

How Jolie Got Her Groove Back!

So, D and I have been talking for a while about taking some dance classes so we don't look dated on the rare times we go out dancing. With the wedding planning and other things, we have put it off...there was always something more critical happening. Last night, we finally made it to a dance class at the gym. There is a 7:30 p.m. Tuesday class called 24Hour Grooves at the Point Loma 24Hour Fitness, which is like a hip hop class. There were about 25-30 people (a few other men, but mostly women) and it was soooo much fun! It was a great workout and help with your coordination (which I seriously lack)...the teacher was not what I expected, but she has such a positive attitude and was telling us that if we couldn't get the moves! I was serously bitten by the dance bug and could not stop dancing and moving around the house! D even liked it and we have plans to make this part of our regular work out!

Speaking of working out, D and I are getting back on the fitness/work out routine. D has been amzingly stressed and irritable (I've been calling him Grumplestilskin) lately. Work is out of control for him and he needs an outlet. I, also, need an outlet. But we both have a huge motivating factor...our annual Greek reunion is in 6 weeks (March 15, to be exact). We will see people that we went to college with, so there is an element of "competition" with others to look good! We'll see...Peace out!

Welcome to Mrs. Big D's Life!

I've always wanted to be one of the cool people and tonight, I succumb to peer pressure and become a cool person! I now have a blog...woo hoo! I've been thinking about it for a while, but decided to do it! Allow me to introduce myself...I am Mrs. Big D aka Jolie. I have been married since November 24, 2007 to my best friend (even if he is a Raiders fan) and together, we are settling into our life. I have learned that the simple moments like being curled up on the couch together watching TV are better than anything else in the world. I am so thankful to have met the one person who believes in me, accepts my quirkiness (also known as being a dork), and loves me unconditionally...even when I do things that aren't so smart! In my other life, I work in human resources for a school district and love my job...even though there are some "not so nice" people around me! Welcome to my life...I may not be the most graceful, but I am loved and that's what matters!
